We do not use porous pipe or simple leaky hose. The reason is very simple, it is very expensive and it the drips are applied very randomly so some areas receive more water while others receive little or no water at all. Simple leaky hose or porous pipe can only be run for short lengths before the pressure difference at the start of the pipe near the water source and the end of the pipe become so unbalanced that watering is more or less useless.
At Easy Irrigation we use pressure compensated leaky hose. What this means is that the same amount of water comes out from the first dripper as the last even if the drip pipe is run for 200 metres. This is so important when planting hedges etc as it will make sure that the hedge grows evenly and that the plants do not get stressed from to much or to little water which will cause disease or death.
